Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa could move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr for a staggering £40 million, according to multiple reports.

The 25-year old’s future at the King Power Stadium currently rests in the land of uncertainty, with any and every scenario still possible.

The Nigeria international has previously been linked to Galatasaray – which still remains his most likely destination – but now Al Nassr are in for him, too.

The Riyadh-based club is ready to pay as much as £40 million for Musa, just £20 million short of the record fee that Manchester City paid for Riyad Mahrez. If the reports are indeed true, then it doesn’t seem like Leicester City would have any doubt whatsoever regarding what their next step should be.

Ahmed Musa has mostly been an enigma to the Foxes faithful ever since he was signed by Claudio Ranieri in 2016/17. There were big things expected of the former CSKA Moscow striker, but it was soon clear that he was in for a disaster.

After scoring just four goals in 32 appearances in his first season, things got even worse for him. The Super Eagles hitman only made a single appearance for Leicester City in 2017/18 before being sent out on loan to CSKA Moscow again in January.

It was then that he showcased his talent, netting six goals in ten league games. He continued his good run in the World Cup, scoring twice in a 2-0 win over Iceland. And those were no ordinary goals.

While anyone who saw him frightening Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side would argue that there’s a top player in there, what would eventually matter is what Claude Puel thinks of him, and whether he can fit him into his system.
