Leicester City are interested in Getafe centre-back Djene Dakonam – that’s according to France Football.

But they won’t be the only club pursuing the Togo international, with Sevilla wanting to land him too after selling Clement Lenglet to Barcelona.

The 26-year old, however, won’t come cheap. Dakonam still has five years left on his current contract, and has a €35 million release clause. Although the reports say that €20 million could be enough to persuade the La Liga outfit, it surely won’t be that simple.

Leicester City have also been also been linked with Yerry Mina, another centre-back from the Spanish league. They are understood to have submitted a €30 million bid for the defender, as reported by Sport.

But Everton and West Ham United want to spice things up, and they have made offers in the same region for the defender who was bought for €10 million from Palmeiras in January.

For those who have forgotten him, Yerry Mina is that Colombian villain who very nearly knocked England out of the FIFA World Cup with his third goal at the tournament; however, it wasn’t enough, as the Three Lions won the round of 16 tie on penalties.

The 23-year old played in all of his side’s four games in Russia, just two less than the number he has so far managed during his time at the Camp Nou. And now he is unlikely to add to it, with Lenglet’s arrival pushing him further down the pecking order.

Whoever the next man be, it’s quite clear now that Claude Puel’s focus currently is on the defence.
