Stefano Sturaro’s agent Carlo Volpi has confirmed that there has been an offer from Leicester City.

However, he has also revealed that West Ham United are among the four other clubs that are interested in the Juventus midfielder.

Just a few days back, it seemed as if Leicester would be able to get the Italian with ease. But that’s not going to be the case, with a proper battle in sight. Quite a change of fortunes for Sturaro.

Speaking of his client, Volpi said:

"“In reality there’s not the air of an imminent sale.“There are several offers on Juve’s table to evaluate. Anything can happen in football, because there are in fact many offers.“There’s not only the big clubs West Ham and Leicester, but at least four other clubs interested in my client, who doesn’t have a preferred destination.“We’re just waiting for a decision by the Bianconeri.”"

Signed from Genoa all the way back in 2014, Stefano Sturaro has never quite been able to nail down a spot in Max Allegri’s Juventus, managing a mere 90 appearances over the course of four seasons. Just 19 of those came in 2017/18 (11 starts).

He has also featured four times for Italy, appearing thrice at the UEFA European Championship in 2016, but the lack of playing time at the Allianz Stadium has cost him his chance for the national side as well.

Judging from Volpi’s words, Juventus may not be in any real hurry to offload Sturaro with three years still remaining on his contract, but he would still feel that it’s the right time to leave the bench in Turin and step on to the field somewhere else.

A few eyebrows will be raised if his next destination is Leicester, though. He’s not better than any of the options that Claude Puel already has at his disposal, which is why paying £20 million – reportedly the asking price – would be an utter waste of money.
