A new version of FIFA 19 is on the horizon. A hugely popular and revealing title, it is more than fun – it vividly and realistically recreates the professional football environment. So, how did Leicester City’s players get rated this season:

Everyone’s favourite football game – well apart from Pro Evolution Soccer folks – is back. It is fascinating to discover new gameplay, workout the new engine, find secret features, learn new tricks and become more ridiculously devoted to a console experience each year! Ok, maybe it’s just me then.

Another interestingly absorbing aspect of the annual sports entertainment edition is the fresh player ratings. And thoroughly analysed, discussed and scrutinized are they.

This season, controversial as this theory is to some: Leicester City’s roster will have a more reasonable classification. Exactly why that is, is because the current campaign follows a steady one. In 2016/17 some rankings were slightly high due to the miraculous triumph in the Premier League.

Subsequent to the disappointing premiership campaign in defence of their silverware, Leicester City attained generally mediocre player ratings. So, now, on a level playing field – we see a decisively more balanced assessment from the EA Sports analysts.

FIFA 19 Leicester City player ratings

Here is LCFC Live on the top three King Power categorisations:

"Kasper Schmeichel comes out as City’s highest-rated player. His rating of 84 puts him as the fifth-highest goalkeeper in the Premier League. Only David De Gea (91), Hugo Lloris (88), Ederson (86), and Alisson (85) are rated higher.“Jamie Vardy’s rating of 82 puts him as the 10th best striker in the Premier League with his pace score of 90 behind only Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha.Harry Maguire is also handed a rating of 82 with scores also in the 80s for defending and physicality. His ratings of 69 for dribbling and 63 for passing we feel are a little low for ‘Slabhead’.New signing Ricardo Pereira is also given a high rating of 81, with high scores for both pace (87) and dribbling (81).”(Via: Leicester Mercury)"

Meanwhile, this is the rest of the team’s succession:

  • Vicente Iborra – 81
  • Wilfred Ndidi – 80
  • Adrien Silva – 79

Honestly, Mendy and Maddison should be higher. Morgan, as well as Benalouane’s ratings seem high. They are the only four participants which particularly stand out.

Does Leicester City’s top 20 ranking amongst the most expensive squads affect the ratings?

The short answer here is, no, not really. Obviously the more desirable young and experienced talent brought into a club gives the overall squad rating a boost. But the FIFA EA Sports franchise dedicatedly recreates the movement, look and playing style of the players.

Authenticity is the order of the day. Therefore, each individual player, of which there are thousands throughout, has a realistic reflection of ability and mentality.
