Following the tragic death of Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the outpouring of support and emotion worldwide was touching. It is expected that his son, Aiyawatt, or ‘Top’, will eventually succeed his father at the King Power Stadium.

For anyone connected to Leicester City football club, this is the saddest time in the club’s history. Sport is completely insignificant or irrelevant to the late chairman’s family, players, staff and supporters at present.

After Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha tragically died in a helicopter crash on Saturday at the King Power Stadium, the dedications at the ground and worldwide were emotional and heart-felt, hopefully helping incredibly with everyone’s grief.

Seeing Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, or ‘Top’ as he is known, lay a reef for his father on Filbert Way, was a truly heartbreaking sight. There was no need to know them in order to sympathise and become upset. Such a sudden loss, as the 60-year-old’s, is so horrendous – it will take time to recover for anyone affected, if at all.

Grief counseling is currently offered to all at the club. Mourning and pain will feel insurmountable for the players, like Kasper Schmeichel and Jamie Vardy; their dreams fulfilled by Vichai’s incredible passion, vision and steering of the blue ship to unfathomable domestic triumph. Then a subsequent, glorious European adventure. “The boss” truly was a great natural-born leader

Top, is now expected to eventually assume control as chairman of Leicester City – we strongly assume – as Vichai would have wanted; and most probably did so legally, in his will.

Of course, sport is completely trivial in these dark times. Although, as time goes by, the Foxes family wish – with help, advice and comforting – suffering will diminish for the contemporary vice-chairman. He is the only man the faithful would want to take over; and it seems extremely fitting and appropriate.

On the above tweet – and article – BBC Sport share extracts of the poignant post, wherein, Top talks legacy and mission; this is presumably an indication regarding the East Midlands side.

On the subject of sustaining Khun Vichai’s desire for Leicester City’s aspirations as a Premier League big-seven, European stable, challenging team: consequently, Wednesday saw Top make a statement via Instagram, during his grieving:

"“I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for this overwhelming support.“What happened made me realise how important my dad was to many people all over the world and I’m touched by how many people kept him close to their hearts.“I am extremely proud to have such an extraordinary father. From him, I have received a very big mission and legacy to pass on and I intend to do just that.“I know that I will receive the support I need to make this happen and I am so grateful for all your messages and kind words.“For a long time, my father taught me to be strong and to take care of my family.“He had a way of teaching me about life and work without making it seem like a lesson. He was my mentor and role model.“Today, he left me with a legacy to continue and I will do everything I can to carry on his big vision and dreams.“My family and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your sincere kindness and good intentions during the most difficult time for us.“I miss you dad, with all of my heart.”– Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha (transcribe via: Mirror)"

How easy it is to feel the love and respect in this testimonial; as it was to see between the pair in life. Leicester City will wait for you, Top, however long it takes, you will continue to receive the Blue Army’s help, as well as aid, whenever needed. Honestly, from one true football fan to another.
