Little over two weeks have passed since catastrophe struck Leicester City at their King Power Stadium home. Sadly, owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died along with four others when his helicopter crashed at the ground. Following disaster, the footballing world came together to honour and pay respects to Khun Vichai.

Among the people around the globe paying tribute to Leicester City and Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, was Prime Minister Theresa May and Prince William; as well as every major football team worldwide. For example: Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

Following the first contest at the King Power Stadium after Khun Vichai‘s dreadful passing, England manager Gareth Southgate – in addition to Three Lions legend Paul Gascoigne – had kind words for the club; not to mention, for the dearly departed chairman. Two English legends for playing into two semifinals and one managing towards another.

‘Gazza’, as the former Tottenham Hotspur and Lazio player is known, wonderfully stated:

"“Off to watch Leicester vs Burnley with Shane in respect for the owner Vichai and his family. RIP to an incredible guy I met him once with Shane wow a true fan and owner love from GAZZA RIP.”(Via: Paul Gascoigne, Twitter)"

While, the England boss was extremely complimentary of the Leicester City academy, after Ben Chilwell made his impressive debut for his country – ironically at the King Power. This came just weeks before disaster occurred. On Saturday, post-match – the Foxes drew 1-1 with Burnley but the occasion was more than just football  – Southgate proclaimed:

"“I’m aware that, at Leicester, they have been through an incredible couple of weeks.“It’s important to give them space to take all that in. My impression is that they feel it’s important to get on with football as well. I think the tributes have been wonderful. I was there on that day. You actually left the ground saying, ‘What a lovely family football club.’“To think that 20 minutes later they were thrown into what has been the last couple of weeks is incredible. Incredibly sad for the families of those involved directly in the accident and incredibly sad for Leicester City Football Club and the people there.“It’s remarkable the way they have dealt with everything and it’s been very emotional to watch, especially before the game last week (at Cardiff).“The huddle with all of the staff and the players, because you know having been in teams and football clubs what that will have meant to everybody there.“I think they’ve found a really good balance of paying their respects and recognising that life has to go on and you carry on professionally.”– Gareth Southgate(all quotes via: Leicester Mercury)"

Southgate named his England squad last week. Their matches are against United States of America, November 15. Along with new enemy Croatia, on November 18. Both games take place at Wembley Stadium. Chilwell is the only Leicester City team member involved – James Maddison and Harry Maguire are injured.

The next outing for Leicester City is a trip to Brighton Hove Albion’s Falmer Stadium, in the Premier League. That clash is November 24, kickoff is 3pm GMT. You can bet the Foxes will be hunting for Seagulls’ blood; as the East Midlands club attempts to salvage a season affected so badly by tragedy – just as Khun Vichai would have wanted!
