Leicester City travel to Falmer and the Amex Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion, Saturday. This article contains anything of interest from the pre-match press conference of Foxes boss Claude Puel.

Firstly, a little roundup of the current standings and form or Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion: the Foxes sit in 10th position in the Premier League. While, the Seagulls are 12th. Only four points separates the pair, currently.

During their previous three division outings, Puel’s side have drawn two, 0-0 and 1-1 respectively; as well as a 1-0 victory. Brighton have lost two and won one of their last three matches.

Pre-match presser with Claude Puel

At the beginning of the presser, Puel was asked about the condition of returning international players: the Frenchman said physically, mentally and socially the national team excursions are a positive experience, and always are. In addition, it is good for the players to vacate their minds of the recent, tragic event; the entire squad is happy and focused.

Asked whether things in the camp are going back to normal, Puel stated it is hard to fully concentrate on football at the moment but they are restoring attention to sport. Continuing to say: football is the main element of working life now.

Preparation for the last two games was tough; yet, the 57-year-old is proud of his team. There is no pressure, according to him, professionals play all the time and want to see out Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha‘s vision. In these testing times, all players did their utmost.

Going forward for Leicester City

One particularly salient factor came when this enquiry arose: Has there been a discussion about the future structure of the club? Does there need to be some discussion at some stage?

"“I think not a lot of things can change. Of course Vichai was our chairman but other executives and staff continue in this way. I think Top will be close, but Top was important in all decisions in the club with his father.”– Claude Puel(Via: Leicester Mercury)"

Overwhelming consensus from the Blue Army is that Aiyawatt – or Top – Srivaddhanaprabha will become chairman at Leicester City. It is the general wish of the faithful. This affirmation seems to be tentative conclusion.

Injury updates

Predominant trio James Maddison, Harry Maguire and Jamie Vardy are nursing injuries. However, all are in some form of training. Sky Sports‘ Rob Dorsett proclaimed Maddison in full training following snapping a photograph of the playmaker, at practice. Jonny Evans is fit again following full minutes with Northern Ireland. Four months sidelined, is Daniel Amartey‘s prognosis.

Of injury matters, Leicester City boss Puel spoke candidly: Maddison is training, he will be assessed for the match-day squad. Maguire is not available for Saturday’s clash. However, he will hopefully be an option next week. Rachid Ghezzal and Vardy also have slight problems yet will be considered for tomorrow’s game.

Puel explained how the Seagulls are a good quality team. Along with stating he is impressed with their veteran striker Glenn Murray; after being prompted. Leicester City will have to deal with their opponents on set-pieces, which the East Midlands club can, apparently, cope with – without Maguire – according to the gaffer.

In regards to the expiring contracts of Danny Simpson, Wes Morgan, Yohan Benalouane, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki:

"“There’s some discussions with Jon [Rudkin] about all the players in our squad. I don’t want to give it away for them or for other players. I can say about them, about the squad, I’m happy to have all these players with us. We have to manage them and try to give them the game-time to continue with a positive attitude.“My feelings are there will be a time to discuss the future of different players, but now is not the time.”(Via: LCFC LIVE)"

In all honesty, only Fuchs and Okazaki deserve renewals – as understudy players. Disregarding sentimentality – fundamentally vital in sport – means Morgan, Simpson and most definitely Benalouane are not needed next season, Leicester are aiming to be the seventh placed premiership team and need no passengers or liabilities.

That completes Foxes of Leicester’s summary of the presser; our prediction is a narrow margin one-goal victory for Leicester. The Brighton contest kicks off at 3pm, Saturday November 24.
