There were several reports on Friday evening of impending doom for Claude Puel’s tenure at Leicester City. How long has the boss got to put things right with a daunting fixture list, beginning with Chelsea:

It was a quiet night news-wise on Friday. Liverpool dominated proceedings as they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 to widen their lead at the top of the Premier League table by four points. Then all of sudden Leicester City became the focus as Telegraph, Daily Mail and the Sun all published exclusive stories of Leicester City manager Claude Puel’s predicament and expected sacking.

With Chelsea and Manchester City the subsequent matches to two defeats and a draw, many people – including supporters, bookies, pundits, experts and journalists – believe time is running out for the Frenchman as Foxes manager.

Yet the reliable John Percy of the Telegraph goes so far as to say three games is all the 57-year-old has to prove himself to the Leicester City board:

"“Claude Puel is facing the sack as Leicester City manager as he battles growing unrest behind the scenes. Puel’s reign is at crisis point and there are huge concerns over results, performances and his training methods. The next three Premier League games are likely to be crucial to his future.”– (Via: Telegraph)"

So, it appears the “lost the training ground” rumours are true, as well as the assessment from Percy that Puel has only three matches to save himself. Those fixtures include the Blues, Citizens – both top-five teams – and then lowly Cardiff City; which ultimately becomes the crunch match for the manager’s longevity at the King Power Stadium.

Firstly, following defeat to the Eagles, he was summoned to crisis talks, according to the other two national media outlets’ reports – Mail and the Sun. Furthermore, it is claimed Puel does not listen to his coaches or players‘ opinions on tactics and training methods. His style and line-up selections are not favoured. Morale and relationships between squad, along with staff, and the gaffer are at an “all time low”, allegedly. Incredibly, striker Jamie Vardy spoke of his struggles in adapting to Puel’s methods.

In addition, Puel apparently faced the boot as last season ended and now the procedure is likely again. Not to mention the “isolated” figure seemingly repeating the issues which cost him the Southampton job. Most noteworthy is the acknowledgement that he dealt with the awful tragedy of losing chairman Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha with dignity.
