Leicester City player nominated for PFA Player of the month Award
Leicester City full-back Ricardo Pereira has been nominated for Premier League’s PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month Award for December.
Pereira is part of the six-man shortlist for his excellent displays in his side’s wins against Watford, Chelsea and Manchester City.
He was unbelievably good in the victories over City and Chelsea in particular, being arguably the best player in both the games. Not very long ago, you could not have possibly seen it coming.
When the Portugal international had “that” stinker against AFC Bournemouth in September, there were many calls for Danny Simpson to be reinstated in the XI.

Pereira was at fault for three of the four goals in Leicester’s 4-2 at the hands of the Cherries that afternoon, and it was hard to see him performing the way he has over the last few weeks.
It will be tough for even the skeptics to disagree with the fact that the 25-year old’s rise to prominence is a strong reason behind Leicester’s recent results. There is no denying that others have been phenomenal as well, but no one has improved quite as much and quite in the manner as Pereira.
Were he to win the FA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month Award, it would be completely deserved – and it will help his confidence, too, especially when you look at the five other players he could beat to the award:
Eden Hazard, Chelsea
Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur
Paul Pogba, Manchester United
Marcus Rashford, Manchester United
Mohamed Salah, Liverpool.
