Andy King

What can we say about ‘Mr Leicester’, Andy King?! A legend; yes, he actually deserves the title. With Leicester City he, incredibly, won the Premier League, the Championship League One too. What status he holds in the city. The boss also stated his want to respect King’s legacy and career by helping to find him a new club.

Unfortunately King has no future under Puel at Leicester. He isn’t even in the 25-man premiership squad, therefore only competing in Premier League 2 action. That doesn’t befit a professional of his stature and he should go now to enjoy competitive football in his twilight playing years. His only appearance this term was at Newport County in the cup – definitely a goodbye gesture from the chief.

According to Mirror Sport, the main clubs interested are Wigan Athletic, West Bromwich Albion, Nottingham Forest and Swansea City; surely a move to the Vitality Stadium will suit the Welshman. That’s if Claudio Ranieri doesn’t get his hands on the high scoring player. Surely the Italian would relish a rendezvous with his former champion.

One midfielder who will not affect King’s future, is Adrien Silva. Where to start? Silva is so far down the pecking order it was unlikely he would get a look in for minutes apart from his previous time in the lesser appreciated Carabao Cup competition.

Though Silva is at the King Power Stadium still, a European Championships winner and capable technician. Now the gaffer says he may play with Papy Mendy and Wilfred Ndidi, as the creative in a midfield-three. What a curve-ball. Will this resurrect one of the most disappointing incomings of all time? May we add that the disaster of the 29-year-old’s initial awful arrival was due to late paperwork – not his own fault.

Subsequent to his arrival and wait he did not impress at all when featuring; while he is an unknown quantity in the English top-flight to be honest. Yet, it now looks as though the Frenchman requires his Portugal playmaker, denying him a move away. Hopefully Puel’s willing to give Silva a run in the vision deficient centre. That’s if the Foxes don’t swap him for AS Monaco in a deal for midfielder Youri Tielemans.
