Signing a physical striker has to be a top priority this summer for Leicester City, with Aleksandar Mitrovic meeting all the requirements.

If Leicester City are to match AS Monaco’s whopping £40 million valuation to make Youri Tielemans’ move a permanent one, there may not be room in the summer transfer kitty for another marquee signing.

However, bolstering their striking options should be next on the list for the Foxes, and with Fulham dangling ten points from safety, Mitrovic may look to leave Craven Cottage to remain in the Premier League next season.

A plaguing issue of City’s current campaign has been their inability to compete for crosses in the opponent’s area. Mitrovic offers a perfect solution to this, having scored the most headed goals in the Premier League this season with six, stat via Premier League.

Also, if the Cottagers are relegated, their current top goalscorer will surely be available in a cut-price deal, despite only joining permanently last summer for an estimated fee of £22 million. This will suit Leicester, whose funds are already stretched by the development of their new, state-of-the-art training ground.

The 24-year-old has already registered ten goals in the top flight this season, a tally equalling Jamie Vardy’s. His pedigree is clear, and with Shinji Okazaki’s contract expiring this summer and Leicester City unlikely to extend it. The Serbian forward can provide quality and depth upfront for Brendan Rodgers‘ first full season in charge.

Mitrovic is also known for his aggression, having already been given seven career red cards. This is quite a number, considering that Vardy has only been sent off three times, stats via TransferMarkt. However, City desperately need another forward who can cause defences problems in a physical manner. The Serbian international, who boasts an impressive 23 goals in 46 caps, is the perfect solution to this deficiency in the ranks.
