Ask yourself one question: Why wouldn’t Kolo Toure explain to us the absolute genius of Brendan Rodgers. The duo is at the helm of footballing matters at Leicester City.

Throughout his career the genial Kolo Toure was admired as a capable player of the game and a likeable chap. Now he’s a respected first team coach at Leicester City; following his background tutelage beginning at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers.

Wherever the Ivorian is there are smiles and a joke seems to be being shared – post conducting business of course. For example he recently told of how he attempted to impress while on Arsenal trial but ended up clattering Arsene Wenger – his then boss. Surely causing sleepless nights for himself unnecessarily thereafter.

Although Toure’s a football guy through and through. Which is naturally why the Northern Irishman opted to continue his working relationship with the 38-year-old. Both travelled down when Rodgers took the top job at the King Power Stadium; there’s no way the new Leicester City manager would be taking along a jester.

Both are serious about the challenge of the East Midlands club becoming a consistently stronger Premier League force. With Rodgers estimating a seventh place finish is a possibility – he didn’t confirm if he meant this or next season – not to mention owner Top Srivaddhanaprabha aiming to break into the elite premiership top-six.

With regards to team functionality, complimentary staff, man management, technical proficiency and most importantly winning, Toure believes his gaffer’s footballing aptitude excels:

"“I’m learning from him every day. He’s very intelligent, organised, gives amazing detail to the players. He is the one who organises everything. He is the maestro, it’s really good to work with him and see what he does on a daily basis.“He prepares everything very well and his reading of the game is incredible. He can change the situation in a game so easily. He’s a top manager.”– Kolo ToureVia the Telegraph"

It would be an absolute mistake to underestimate the former Ivory Coast international’s ambition. During a glittering club career Toure won three FA Cups and two top-flight titles with Arsenal and Manchester City respectively.

In contemporary times the former Gunner wishes to win a World Cup with his African side, with whom he still coaches in a duel role. In addition he’ll be whistling whilst he works, “For me, life is about being happy. Life is about enjoying and that’s it. When I played football I wanted to make people happy. This is the way I am.” per Telegraph.
