La Liga giants FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have joined the long list of teams interested in making Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell their own – that’s what the Sun says anyway.

The Spanish duo was mighty impressed with Chilwell when they first saw him play in England’s win over Spain in Sevilla last October.

They have since been keeping an eye on him in the Premier League and reportedly sent representatives to watch him in England’s 5-0 win against Czech Republic. They must have left Wembley entirely convinced that he is world-class.

While Atletico see Chilwell as the man to replace Filipe Luis – and have the money to invest after Lucas Hernandez’s £68 million sale to Bayern Munich –  Barcelona want the 22-year old to provide competition to first-choice full-back Jordi Alba.

As we understand, Chilwell’s move to Manchester City is as good as done, but if Barcelona and Atletico are really interested, that can all change pretty soon. Amidst all of this uncertainty, what’s certain is that the Leicester star will be a huge coup for whoever manages to land him.

But it will be just as big a loss for Rodgers, unless, of course, Kieran Tierney, who Leicester are looking at as Chilwell’s replacement, arrives in the Premier League in sensational style.

That is all to be discussed in the summer, though – and only when Chilwell’s transfer is official. Till then, let us enjoy what the England international has to offer to the club. Who knows how long we can cherish his brilliance for?
