Three Championship stars Leicester City should consider this summer
By Matt Taylor
Jack Clarke
The 18-year-old winger has garnered many plaudits this season, having notched two goals and two assists in just four starts for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United. He is known both for his blistering pace and for his willingness to run at opposition defenders and beat them.
Between the recent injury problems of Marc Alrbighton and Rachid Ghezzal’s failure to make a meaningful impact yet at the King Power club, Leicester City must never be short of options out wide. On average, Clarke registers 0.8 key passes per game and completes 1.2 dribbles, stats via WhoScored.

The York-born winger’s potential is clear. He was recently named at the top of the Guardian’s list of ‘Ten Football League teenagers to watch in 2019’ and is fast-becoming a fan favourite at Elland Road.
However, City may be able to prise the youngster from Leeds this summer, especially if they are pipped to automatic promotion by Sheffield United. Also, with a contract only running until 2021 and the lure of guaranteed Premier League football, Clarke could make the switch to the Foxes this summer.
Also, the success of fellow young English talents such as Maddison, Barnes and Ben Chilwell at Leicester City, could persuade Clarke to join the Foxes in an attempt to emulate them. While the opportunity to play under another high-calibre manager such as Brendan Rodgers makes City a tempting prospect for any young player.
If Leicester can snap up Clarke for a reasonable price, his potential resale value as a young, English talent is limitless. It has been reported in the Express that Liverpool have shown interest in his services, but City are more likely to offer guaranteed first team action.
