Everything of note from manager Brendan Rodgers’ latest Leicester City press conference. Including team news for the upcoming Huddersfield Town match.

With Wolverhampton Wanderers predictably winning their match versus Manchester United on Wednesday night, Leicester City are now three points behind their Midlands rivals in the intense chase for seventh place in the Premier League. Both have played equal fixtures.

Or you can call it ‘the best of the rest’; that’s because the ‘big six’ – as the premiership’s top-six teams are referred to – are seemingly untouchable at present. Although it would be unwise to rule out a club like the Foxes managing to break that invincibility; especially when recalling the team’s unprecedented 2015/16 exploits.

There are six top-flight contests left for Leicester: beginning with Huddersfield Town away on Saturday. Followed by Newcastle United, West Ham United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea. Not an easy run in by any standard.

Most noteworthy is the fact Leicester City will undoubtedly be a deciding factor in the title remaining in Manchester or ending up in Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers, along with club captain Wes Morgan, have insisted the East Midlands outfit are concentrated on finishing strongly – that translates to aiming for seventh.

These are the talking points from the Northern Irishman’s meeting with the press on Thursday afternoon, prior to the Terriers clash:

"Rodgers on summer incomings:“…we want to strengthen.”On LCFC’s brand new training complex:“It was one of the reasons to come here…”On Marc Albrighton:“He joined the team for the first time today.”(though he is not available for Saturday)On injuries:“The team has been training very well, the spirit is high, they’ve been working with quality this week. No injuries so far, everyone is fine.”On Kasper Schmeichel’s previously questionable distribution:“He’s a player that’s so important because of his range of pass.”On the race for seventh:“To finish as high as you can, that’s the message.”On Youri Tielemans:“Always difficult [speculating on a player’s future] because he‘s a Monaco player. There are discussions between the clubs, I’m sure.”On Daniel Amartey:“He’ll be with us before the end of the season, he’s working hard, but we don’t have a timeline on that yet.”Via Leicester Mercury"

It’ll be interesting to see how Huddersfield play at the weekend. Many people believe they’ll be pushovers with their relegation status confirmed. However, a team with nothing to lose can cause many problems through experiment moves and a lack of fear.
