Brendan Rodgers’ words of wisdom encouraging Harvey Barnes
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken words of wisdom to encourage starlet Harvey Barnes, who hasn’t scored for the Foxes since returning.
Harvey Barnes is an undeniable talent, whether that incredible aptitude will be best applied in the Premier League or the Championship, honestly, remains to be seen. Although he evidently has it, somewhere, in the ‘locker’ for longevity at elite level.
Since returning to Leicester from a loan to West Bromwich Albion the youngster has impressed, however he is yet to find the net for the Foxes.
Barnes was in illustrious form while loaned to the Baggies earlier this season: nine goals, along with six assists made him one of the stand out players in the entire division. That outstanding run of performances caught the eyes if pundits, fans and his parent club.
Claude Puel then brought the 21-year-old back to King Power Stadium and Leicester City. In addition, it was the Frenchman who was at the Foxes helm when Youri Tielemans came on loan from Monaco. A club with whom Puel has lifelong ties. Telling; but now irrelevant.
Following the call back, Barnes showed enough to push himself into his then gaffer’s starting line-up. Subsequently the Burnley-born winger has been an ever present in Brendan Rodgers’ side after Puel was relieved of duty.

Because Barnes has struggled to produce a productive output to go along with his strong impression and influence in the team, Rodgers has now spoken to the media about his starlet. Including where the left sided forward needs to improve:
"“It is just a case of adding to what he has. We need to get him pressing higher up the pitch so you have more chances to create opportunities to score.“He is a wonderful talent. He doesn’t have to get hung up on the goals side of it yet, although eventually that is what he will be judged on. What he creates and scores.”Via Daily Star"
Although the England Under-21 international managed to supply two teammates for finishes since returning, he would be advised to work closely with his highly rated boss at the East Midlands club.
West Ham United entertain Leicester at the London Stadium on Saturday; the Young Lion will probably find himself replaced by Marc Albrighton on the wing. The Foxes still believe they can attain a seventh place finish this campaign, despite a disappointing loss to Newcastle United last Friday.
