What transfer business to expect from Leicester City this summer
How many incoming transfers should supporters expect Leicester City to buy with Brendan Rodgers at the helm? The boss indicated just what’s needed in a recent interview:
In recent times, overall, Leicester City’s transfer business has been dire. That’s in respect to recent incomings; after Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N’golo Kante. And, obviously not including obtaining the odd polished gem like Harry Maguire and James Maddison.
Awful signings included – whether or not the players are quality and simply just not suited to the Premier League notwithstanding – Luis Hernandez, Yohan Benalouane, and Rachid Ghezzal being amongst the baffling worst.
In order to achieve potential and realise European qualification ambition, it is imperative that Leicester’s head of recruitment makes astute choices. With regards to outgoing too; for example Harry Maguire will reportedly cost Manchester City in the region of £90 million.
Obviously that figure would be too much to reject as well as being enough to fund the club project for years to come. To be honest though, that fee won’t be paid; being £15m more than even Virgil van Dijk’s price. However, astronomical bids must be accepted, if made.
Brendan Rodgers will certainly desire keeping the likes of Maguire, Ben Chilwell and James Maddison. Yet, with the latter two players’ excellent seasons, that feat may be difficult. Signing the correct personnel to fill the prospective gaps is also vital, with Leicester City’s mediocre buys and overspending.

Rodgers recently gave indication of the East Midlands club’s summer transfer window intention for purchasing:
"“The squad dynamic is very good. We don’t need wholesale changes in the summer.“We have got a really good group who will develop and if we can add just a few bits of real quality to that as opposed to numbers then that can help them push on.”Via Leicester Mercury"
The Northern Irishman believes what all observers have been saying: Leicester have a brilliant, young, vibrant team with the willpower to learn and grow under a first-class gaffer. There is no need to buy many players, only a specific few need exchanging or improving on.
Areas Foxes of Leicester pinpoint for upgrades or decent understudies are: a right-back, a winger and a striker with proven prowess to contest Jamie Vardy. Not to hinder the No.9 but encourage him to excel further.
Chelsea are the last fixture for the Foxes this campaign, but before that Rodgers’ outfit meet the Citizens. Pep Guardiola’s side are aiming at becoming champions again, with a wonderful Liverpool team chasing them all the way.
