The latest interview given by Youri Tielemans gives the most significant indication of his possible permanent signing at Leicester City.

Leicester City demolishing Arsenal 3-0 had more of a significance than legitimizing – believe it or not – the East Midlands club’s aim at fragmenting the abiding Premier League top six. It gives further incentive to the much desired Youri Tielemans to sign on a permanent basis.

Let’s say a big six team wants to prize the starlet away from Leicester City and Monaco during the summer transfer window. And, to be perfectly frank, why wouldn’t they or any Champions League side want the Belgian to sign with them?!

Tielemans has proven his prowess as a world-class goalscoring and assisting midfielder in mere months of arriving at King Power Stadium. Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of their intention to capture the 21-year-old’s signature.

If the former Anderlecht player would have considered Arsenal, then he and his teammates’ thorough beating of the Gunners is testament to Leicester being a great choice for the playmaker. At a team like Unai Emery’s or higher, say Liverpool or around that level, Tielemans is certainly not guaranteed a starting place despite his obvious quality.

Ultimately the player has been so exceptional, in arguably the globe’s foremost league, that you couldn’t blame his French parent club for also attempting to keep Tielemans. He himself admitted recently that he will make his destination decision during the off-season. Presumably he will be inundated with major offers from eminent sides.

Tielemans speaks following Leicester City’s 3-0 defeat of Arsenal

Tielemans opened the scoring versus Emery’s team, the first time he’s finished a move with his head in an already extremely impressive career. After the contest the Belgium international spoke to lcfc.com about his performance:

"“I think it’s a big win, we scored three goals at home and we didn’t concede one, so to do that against a big team like Arsenal, it was a pleasure.”– Youri TielemansVia Leicester City’s official website"

Clearly this is a notably outstanding victory for the on loan Fox. He recognises that the North London club are a dominant side that are usually more difficult to beat. The Blue Army will hope these kind of conquests convince the supremely talented footballer to join Leicester on a full-time basis.

Of course, not securing European football on Filbert Way will have hindered that chance, but Tielemans can derive pleasure again from seeing off more giants next campaign.
