Vincent Camarasa

The 24-year-old spent this season on loan at Cardiff City, registering five goals and four assists but could not prevent the Bluebirds from relegation. Camarasa will return to Real Betis this summer, where he is surplus to requirements.

It is believed that a fee of £13 million would be enough to land the Spanish midfielder, the reported amount offered by Cardiff in January. Failing that, Camarasa has a release clause, compulsory in any La Liga contract, of €24 million. This is not an awful fee for a player of proven Premier League quality, highlighted by his average of 1.6 key passes per game, via WhoScored.

Camarasa would undoubtedly have caught the eye of Leicester City’s recruitment team, as he curled a sumptuous winner past Kasper Schmeichel when Cardiff visited the King Power over the Christmas period. He has made a habit of scoring wonder goals this season. A habit that would hopefully continue into the 2019/20 campaign, should he join the Foxes.

Even if the Tielemans deal is completed, Camarasa could still be a decent addition for the Foxes. Despite being awash with quality defensive midfielders, including Hamza Choudhury, Nampalys Mendy and Wilfred Ndidi, beyond Tielemans and Maddison, there is a lack of depth in the creative department.

For a relatively modest fee, Leicester would be getting a strong, creative midfielder who has shown that he can handle himself in the most physically demanding league that world football has to offer.
