Manchester City are willing to spend a mammoth £125 million on Leicester City duo Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell, according to the Daily Star.

That would mean a £75 million offer for Maguire and £50 million for Chilwell, but Brendan Rodgers really doesn’t care about money. He doesn’t need money.

He wants both of these gems to stay and will fight until the end of the transfer window to ensure that no one snaffles them from under his nose. Want Leicester’s star players? You wish, Pep Guardiola. You wish.

But there have also been reports that Maguire is willing to join the English champions – so much so that he will snub Manchester United – and that Leicester will allow him to leave if his £85 million valuation is met.

The Red Devils have reportedly enquired about the England international but understand that he is more eager to be playing at the Etihad Stadium next season, not Old Trafford. No surprise there.

Another set of reports points to the fact that Chilwell, meanwhile, will not be leaving this summer.

Like most of his teammates, he has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and the two Manchester clubs. You can’t help but have the feeling that someone will inevitably leave.

While Leicester are in a position to play hardball regardless of who they are having to deal with, the decision ultimately comes down to the player in question.
