These three star players linked to Leicester City in reports are apparently not signing for the Foxes this transfer window.

Many players old and young, expensive and reasonable, from all over the globe will be and have been linked to Leicester City in the past month. To be completely honest, keeping up with it is a task for Foxes of Leicester. In order to provide the best coverage we attempt to disregard the incorrect, fanciful click-bait articles and bring you our opinion on the realistic reports.

That said there are always a few star names mentioned which attract one’s attention, as well as our desire against our better judgement. For example, this writer is a keen judge of fanciful or dross fake news. Yet when former-Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben was associated with a transfer to the East Midlands, it was easy to want to believe. Apologies to all – lesson learned.

That said, we can now provide an update on the Dutchman’s supposed move to Leicester, along with disproving three other alleged incomings. According to Leicester Mercury, neither Robben, Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge or Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic are joining the Foxes this summer:

"LeicestershireLive understands City have no interest in trying to sign Perisic.City are looking to bring in at least one new wideman this summer but Perisic is not on the list of possible targets. At 30-years old, Perisic does not fit City’s preferred profile of a young, up-and-coming players who can be developed and will add an increased market value to the squad in the coming years.Perisic is just one of a number of players who have been incorrectly linked with City in recent weeks, including Daniel Sturridge and Arjen Robben."

So there you have it: we stand corrected on our initial assessment of the likelihood of Robben becoming a Fox. Sturridge never seemed likely due to persistent injury issues; despite his talent and relationship with Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers. Perisic would have been an amazing signing in our opinion; providing experience to blend with the exceptional youthful quality at King Power Stadium.

More from Foxes of Leicester

The focus for the club is surely on Youri Tielemans, regardless of him attracting the attention of Premier League big six teams. Completing the permanent capture of the Belgian is, was and always has been the prime concern this off-season.
