Ricardo Pereira is about to ‘quit’ Leicester City: Report
Leicester City may be dealt a severe setback to their European qualification hopes, as giants Juventus are reportedly lining up Ricardo Pereira as a ‘replacement for Manchester City bound Joao Cancelo’.
When a player dazzles the Premier League in his debut season, attracting fans and clubs as admirers in large numbers, it is no wonder when that athlete then draws transfer interest.
In actuality the Blue Army knew this would happen to the best players on the roster this summer. At the moment the Foxes have been able to hang on to stars such as: Harry Maguire, James Maddison and Ben Chilwell. While the trio were linked to huge sides including: Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
One Fox we forgot to worry about was Ricardo Pereira; partly because he said recently that he fully enjoyed his debut season on Filbert Way, along with proclaiming he “can’t wait to pull on the Leicester shirt again.”
Thursday’s Sun published an article claiming that the Portuguese will leave King Power Stadium this summer:
"RICARDO PEREIRA is ready to hand Leicester another defensive hammer blow and quit to join Juventus. With Pep Guardiola closing in on Juve full-back Joao Cancelo, the Italians want Portuguese star Pereira as a replacement. The 25-year-old is desperate to force his way into his nation’s Euro 2020 plans and would move to Turin to team-up with compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.Paris Saint-Germain have also been tracking the Portuguese ace – who has four years left of his deal to run at Leicester."
Ricardo is good enough to play for a superpower club, in Foxes of Leicester’s opinion. His statistics, dedication and performance completely justify the interest. He, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Trent Alexander-Arnold were probably the best three right-backs in the Premier League last campaign.
Yet whether this report is to be believed or if the transfer will transpire is not clear. If Joao Cancelo leaves Juve then obviously City will be concerned.

James Justin will sign imminently with the Foxes, and upon arrival he is thought to become an understudy to the 25-year-old.
Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have also been linked to the Portugal defender who was Leicester’s Player of the Season for 2018/9, according to Leicester Mercury. The publication also indicates Ricardo is happy at the East Midlands club, despite covering certain Italian media suggesting a move may happen.
