The Sun alleged that Harry Maguire was having a Manchester United medical on Monday, the claim has been refuted by a journalist very close to Leicester City.

Harry Maguire’s future is seemingly up in the air, with nonstop differing reports on his Leicester City status. Will he stay or will he go? Let’s assess the information we have.

The Sun claims – strangely and contradictorily to the Foxes’ position – that Leicester have accepted a bid of £60 million for their centre-back:

"The Red Devils will pay Leicester £60m for the Foxes star, 26, with an extra £20m available in add-ons."

This is almost unbelievable as we know City chairman Khun Top Srivaddhanaprabha’s stance of not selling to a bigger club. Not to mention this supposed bid technically not reaching valuation. Although add-ons will prospectively push the fee to £80m.

Additionally, the outlet states that the East Midlands outfit has consequently reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion for their centre-half Lewis Dunk:

"LEICESTER have agreed a £45million deal for Brighton defender Lewis Dunk. The Seagulls centre-back is set to replace Harry Maguire, who is heading to Manchester United in a world-record £80m swoop."

With regards to Dunk, if Leicester obtain his services, some supporters have suggested, wisely, that James Tarkowski would be a more promising capture. Burnley’s defender is younger and more regularly involved as a national team squad member with England. The price would also be around the £40m mark for Tarkowski, apparently.

However, none of this may matter as journalist and insider at King Power, Geoff Peters, proclaims that Maguire isn’t going to Manchester United because Leicester will reject the proposed offer. In fact there will also be no medical with the Red Devils, as the Sun also stated.

Yes, these persistently antithetical reports are annoying – to be honest Foxes of Leicester are completely fed up of reporting on it. Though at this point we though it best to sort through the mess for you.

On Sunday the Telegraph also published an article, again conflicting with the Sun, saying Maguire will not ‘down tools’ in order to pursue a move to Old Trafford or elsewhere. This is allegedly due to the two Premier League clubs being at an impasse over price of the sought after player.

Telegraph also say to expect Maguire to be in the Foxes matchday squad for Tuesday’s initial friendly of pre-season. It’s basically anyone’s guess what Maguire, Leicester and his suitors will decide now.
