VAR has come under a barrage of scrutiny once again as Leicester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the King Power Stadium.

It should have been game over when Serge Aurier put the ball in the back of the net to make it 2-0 after Harry Kane had given the Spurs the lead, however, VAR ruled the goal out because Son Heung-min was less than a millimetre offside.

Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi also had his opening strike disallowed, though in his case, it was the correct decision and he really had wandered offside.

On the day, VAR may have benefitted the Foxes but we are not far away from a frustrating result that is entirely down to this shambolic technological advancement that some people deem necessary.

Former Leicester player Gary Lineker rightly went in on VAR on Twitter, stating that it’s sucking the life out of the sport.

Lineker wasn’t the only one frustrated, as anyone who happened to be scrolling through Twitter at the time would tell you.

Regardless, the VARce apart, this win has put Leicester in a really good position.

Although these are still early days, it cannot be denied that Brendan Rodgers’ side are well placed for at least a top six finish.

They have made a strong start with 11 points in six games and sit third on the Premier League table.

Whisper it quietly but the performances are making it look like there’s a good chance that it will at least be 20 after ten games.
