There is an outlandish internet rumour which sparked debate among Leicester City supporters – can the Foxes really sign Gareth Bale in any capacity?

Dreaming big is now a luxury that is afforded to the Leicester City faithful. Champions League Quarter-Finals along with an unprecedented Premier League title enabled an everlasting optimism and eternal happiness. Well, within reason.

Though a side effect of this is expectation. However, that doesn’t really extend to the capture of superstar signings, yet. There is still a certain level, the highest echelon of footballer, whom probably won’t consider the Foxes as a viable option.

Not with Manchester City, Liverpool and other European giants like Barcelona, Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain vying for their signatures. Players in this bracket include the likes of: Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah and Gareth Bale.

Maybe when, or ifLeicester qualify for the Champions League in succession for a few seasons and win some domestic cups they will be able to attract some of that type of quality. Although, Bale has many issues at Madrid and is thought to be considering a return to the premiership.

Incredibly there is an internet rumour, began by an unofficial fan account, which states that the Welshman could come to King Power Stadium on a loan deal. Thought by many Twitter users to be what it is – unsubstantiated hearsay.

Of course the hypothetical fantasy would be great, but a prospective transfer is extremely unlikely. This is for a number of reasons: his wages are estimated at three times the highest Foxes earner for a start. He wouldn’t compete in CL football, or even Europa League action.

Additionally the aforementioned superpower teams would all be interested, as well as Manchester United and the winger’s former side, Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs now have Jose Mourinho at the helm and could offer the money or prestige needed to entice their ex-employee.

Furthermore Foxes expert at Leicester Mercury, Jordan Blackwell, gave his opinion on the situation. Similarly to Foxes of Leicester, Blackwell does not think the gossip is realistic or legitimate either. At the moment, the writer doesn’t believe the East Midlanders have the “pulling power” to lure the Wales international. Adding that los Blancos desire a sale anyway.

Ben Chilwell apparently most likely to leave LCFC. light. Related Story
