On Monday a major development within Premier League football was announced. The decision affects Leicester City players who are raring to go.

At this point – I’m not sure how – you can expect to see the Premier League return in less than a month from now. June 12 is the date; or possibly the 19th which is exactly a month away on Tuesday. Leicester City’s opponents haven’t been announced as of yet. Nor has a neutral venue been confirmed, which is where they will presumably play.

Thankfully the Bundesliga, Europe’s first top division to begin playing once again, started without any issues this past weekend. Eight matches were a success, if not a little shy of atmosphere.

Though, realistically, what would you prefer: no professional football at all, or games played without spectators? It’s an obvious choice. And fans will come back at some point – most definitely.

Major announcement affects Leicester City

On Monday premiership bosses declared that training seasons will be allowed for all clubs in the top-flight. In what the league describes as: “Step One of the Return to Training Protocol.” Called “small group training”, there is no contact permitted presently.

The Foxes squad were also tested at their current complex, Belvoir Drive, using COVID Antigen Testing (CAT). You can read more at LCFC.com.

Raring to go

Meanwhile some of Leicester City’s star players have taken to social media to express their longing for a footballing kick start. In the recent past James Maddison and others explained how they’re desperately missing competitive outings as well as looking forward to practicing with team-mates.

Maddison humorously joked how he’s pining for a hug from commanding centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, on one of his Instagram updates.

Subsequently Hamza Choudhury told of how he wants to be “back out there” – on the pitch. Along with Ayoze Perez telling his followers he’s “raring to go”.
