Brendan Rodgers has explained that James Justin will replace injured right-back Ricardo Pereira when Leicester City return to action.

James Justin has waited patiently at Leicester City for his big chance; in the meantime he’s grabbed smaller chances with both hands. Featuring four times in the Premier League for the Foxes already.

Then there were the 22-year-old’s impressive cameos and solid displays in cup competition, in which he provided an assist finely. Not to mention facilitating successfully in the premiership, too. It’s fair to say Justin has a bright future in the English top-flight.

The former ‘best player at Luton Town’ bides his time at King Power Stadium behind expertly performing right-back Ricardo Pereira. In fact, the Portuguese is considered one of the best in all the division, generally behind Liverpool’s incredible Trent Alexander-Arnold. Meaning Justin has had to be patient.

Time for Leicester City starlet to shine

Unfortunately Ricardo suffered a fairly bad injury just before the suspension of all football. In City’s final game, a 4-0 demolition of Aston Villa, the 26-year-old endured a knee ligament problem following a challenge with Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Ricardo underwent surgery without issue, and subsequently completed two months of rehabilitation. He received instructions sent to his home from Leicester’s fitness staff, to conduct in his gym. Now the Portugal international says he is feeling very good, as well as being able to “walk normally again”.

Though Ricardo is not expected to play any part in the East Midlanders’ 2019/20 run-in. Therefore boss Brendan Rodgers has nominated Justin to replace the Foxes star; despite mentioning Daniel Amartey, along with Hamza Choudhury as potential right-defenders. In addition to some Under-23 youths who could step in.
