We’ve changed our minds – Leicester City shouldn’t sign this winger

After previously making a recommendation for Leicester City to sign Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser, Foxes of Leicester have reconsidered the suggestion.

FoL would like to contradict ourselves right now. Well, maybe a u-turn is a better, more media-friendly public relations phrase. Our change of opinion is due to headlines made by Scottish wingman Ryan Fraser, presently a Bournemouth player. Here is why City should avoid him.

Cherries manager Eddie Howe confirmed recently that Fraser will not play for them again. This came the rejection of a short contract extension offered to him in order to help his current side avoid relegation.

The Scotsman is believed not to want to jeopardize a lucrative transfer opportunity to move to a club like Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur. Which is possibly why he’s been so indifferent form-wise – some would say disinterested – in comparison to his 2018/19 displays.

Why Leicester City need team-mates rather than individuals

Even Leicester City’s flair players aren’t even selfish or self-involved, such as James Maddison. A definite team spirit is apparent at the East Midlands outfit: togetherness, unity and selflessness are all virtues of the club.

Therefore a player who leaves his side in an awkward position with much to lose, whatever may be in the future for the athlete, is not the type of personality needed or wanted on Filbert Way. In our opinion, Fraser isn’t probably going to find it easy to secure himself a top team anyway.

The Foxes play Watford this Saturday. Former boss at King Power Stadium, Nigel Pearson, is in control of the Hornets, who are attempting to avoid the drop. If anyone can keep up the Hertfordshire men, it’s most likely ‘big Nige’. Meanwhile, Leicester are going for a place in 2020/21‘s Champions League.
