Leicester City suffered a very disappointing defeat on the road as Bournemouth came from behind to dismantle the Foxes Champions League bid.

Jamie Vardy scored his 23rd goal of the season in the first-half in one of Leicester City better performances since the restart, which could have been complemented with more goals.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ decision to take off Kelechi Iheanacho at half-time for Dennis Praet in a “tactical switch“, damaged the momentum of the play in the second-half and was the start of the crumbling second-half performance.

Junior Stanislas tucked away a penalty after Kasper Schmeichel’s poor goal-kick cannoned off Wilfred Ndidi before the Nigerian conceded a penalty. Things got from bad to worse when Dominic Solanke put the Cherries ahead with his first Premier League goal for the club.

In a couple of minutes, the game had turned on its head and possibly the Foxes’ season. With Caglar Soyuncu being shown a red card for kicking out in the aftermath of Solanke’s goal, Bournemouth netted twice more to completely deflate the Foxes players.

With news breaking on Monday morning that Manchester City WILL play European football next season after they won their appeal, a top-four finish will be the only way for the East Midlanders to qualify for the Champions League next season.

But, what feels like a common question when discussing Leicester City, where did it go wrong?
