Leicester need to improve – boss confirms transfer intentions
At his pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference, Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Leicester City require transfers in order to improve.
Whether Leicester City qualify for the Champions League by Sunday, July 26 or play in the Europa League next season, the Foxes need to strengthen their squad.
In fact, the roster will need another quality player in each position to challenge and extract the best from those starters already present. If the King Power side lose any top performers, then double the mentioned number in each affected position.
Hopefully all of the more competent or best athletes at Leicester will remain on Filbert Way for 2020/21 – they are now a self professed non-selling club. However, as witnessed with England centre-back Harry Maguire, huge outfits such as Manchester United can poach exceptional talent from smaller teams.
Strengthening Leicester City for the next campaign
Happily for the Blue Army, manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he and the recruitment department are searching the transfer market for adequate men to sign. Hopefully a quality winger like Todd Cantwell is on their list; he is apparently a target for Rodgers. Read about that by pressing here.
A trip to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur is Leicester City’s upcoming game, followed by a clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford. Two successive wins in those matches would guarantee the Foxes ‘CL’ football in the next campaign. If they lose those fixtures, the East Midlanders still enter the lesser ‘EL’ – which is still a great achievement for the club.
