Leicester City will apparently announce the signing of Belgian international Timothy Castagne soon. According to the bookies, the Foxes will also get Dwight McNeil.

Leicester City are apparently still chasing Burnley’s Dwight McNeil, according to reports. Furthermore, a consensus of bookies’ odds places the Foxes as runaway leaders to capture his signature.

Signing a left-footed winger is coveted at present; whilst none materialising has been lamented by a section of the Blue Army. There are complaints around prospective targeting, as nothing seems concrete from a plethora of hearsay. Yet sometimes that gossip does of course turn into tangible news.

Verdict on Leicester City’s Dwight McNeil interest

To be honest, my assessment is that the 20 year old is as qualified and suitable a signing that Leicester fans could hope to obtain. Well, this year at least.

With regards to ticking boxes for Foxes’ preferences, McNeil checks many: English – for the homegrown quota – youthful, top-flight experience as well as exhibiting quality, left-footed.

Next summer could be a monumental time for City signings; hopefully with a vastly increased budget for Brendan Rodgers to maintain excellent club progress.

However, if the Clarets refuse to lower their supposed, current £50 million asking price, it is unlikely that the East Midlands outfit will agree at present. Juventus and other clubs are also said to be monitoring developments.
