Whilst away with his international colleagues at Northern Ireland, Leicester City centre-back Jonny Evans has suffered an injury.

Leicester City star defender Jonny Evans was apparently ‘distraught’ on Monday evening. He missed out on the Northern Ireland Nations League clash against Norway. Notably, it’s interesting that Ian Baraclough’s team were beaten 5-1 without Evans.

Of course the Foxes will be without their one-time Manchester United man for the first three matches of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign. Those absences are a consequence of his awful sending off for a challenge on the Red Devils’ Scott McTominay.

Evans’ usual cultured approach to defending and punishing tackling made him an instant hit with the Blue Army. His partnership with Turkish centre-half Caglar Soyuncu is often a joy to behold at Leicester.

Expected returns for Leicester City

Evans now unfortunately joins fellow star team-mates Ricardo Pereira and James Maddison on the Foxes sideline. Maddison may return for the King Power team for the West Bromwich Albion opener; while Ricardo isn’t expected back until early October.

Although Foxes of Leicester can report that Evans suffered a “thigh strain“, it is unclear how severe the problem sustained is for the 32 year old. Naturally, he will subsequently be assessed by the club.

It’s Evans’ former club up first for Rodgers’ side, newly promoted West Brom won’t be pushovers, at all! Jamie Vardy is a regular goalscorer against them so he’s our tip to get onto the scoresheet. The initial premiership outing for the Foxes begins at 2pm, Sunday September 13.
