Leicester boss reveals new date for injured Ricardo’s return
Let’s be honest – Leicester City desperately need their brilliant defender Ricardo Pereira back. Unfortunately the original time frame for the injured star’s return may have increased.
With Timothy Castagne making such an influential debut for Leicester City, as well as a particularly devastating one for West Bromwich Albion, the issues facing Brendan Rodgers’ team have been somewhat swept under the royal blue carpet.
Evidently James Justin and the Belgian did a very good job, despite the opposition obviously encompassing many ‘straight back down’ traits. Versus competitive and more skilled opponents is where Ricardo’s absence will be negatively highlighted.
Justin was not at his best in the 2019/20 run-in as he deputised. Or to be accurate, Justin failed to live up to expectations in place of his injured teammate. Thankfully the former Luton Town man improved during the Baggies contest. Meanwhile, there’s no doubt that Castagne is a definite starter even when the Portugal international returns.
When will Ricardo Pereira be back?
Unfortunately Ricardo’s early October comeback has been pushed back to the end of that month, according to Rodgers.
Can Leicester continue their excellent start to the current Premier League campaign, following a 3-0 win away at West Brom? Yes – if diligence is applied, focus continues. Along with no more injuries and suspensions materialising, then there’s no reason why the Foxes can’t beat Burnley on Sunday. Playing Manchester City away a week after is a whole different test.
