Man City v Leicester: Foxes injury news, Jonny Evans availability
Brendan Rodgers provided an update on Jonny Evans, Cengiz Under and Wilfred Ndidi before Leicester City meet Manchester City.
Leicester City fans are enjoying their moment atop the Premier League. Obviously the Foxes aren’t delusional and therefore know all too well that it is more than unlikely they will be there at the end of the 2020/21 season, as they were in 2016.
Nevertheless, there have been some upsets and strange results already this campaign. Though Brendan Rodgers’ side are yet to be truly tested by a real top half of the table contender for Europe and the like.
Up next for a winning Leicester City team
Manchester City entertain Leicester at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Usually this would be a particularly daunting task, but the East Midlanders regularly give a decent account of themselves in the Sky Blue part of Manchester. Not to mention that the Citizens have major injuries at present.
Pep Guardiola says he has a mere 13 senior athletes fit, at present. However, it is mainly substitutes that have been affected. There is also a crop of excellent youth starlets to choose from and replace with.
Bolstering Rodgers’ chances even more is the fact that suspension has ended for Jonny Evans, who is deemed fit enough for the starting line-up by the boss. While new loan signing Cengiz Under won’t feature in this clash.
Star Fox Wilfred Ndidi is unfortunately out for up to 12 weeks with a groin problem. There is always a flip side of the coin with regards to opposition absences.
