Many Leicester City fans will tell you what FoL is about to tell you – it’s about time Riyad Mahrez acknowledged and honoured the Foxes for where he is.

The 2015/16 season will probably never be surpassed for Leicester City. Not in 100 years – or even 1000. Special is the understatement of the century when applied to the triumphant feat achieved in the Premier League for the first and only time.

Nobody predicted it. No one! Even those few incredibly fortunate souls who won thousands following 5000-1 bets: they just had an unrealistic punt and became the luckiest people in the country. And fair play to them. I’m still not jealous – honest!

Former Leicester City star finally acknowledges club

Alongside Jamie Vardy, N’golo Kante and, well the entire squad to be frank, Riyad Mahrez arguably had one of the most positive influences on the team in that marvellous campaign. Unfortunately the player forced an unceremonious transfer away from the East Midlanders.

Disrespect was real, as Mahrez went AWOL from international duty to push through a club switch, made statements saying he was unhappy and that he was being held onto unfairly. Sadly for the petulant footballer, the King Power entity won’t be bullied or dictated to by anyone, especially someone with his attitude.

Thankfully the Manchester City star has now made a u-turn – possibly just to appease Foxes whom feel the Algerian has been disrespectful to their club. This is what the winger said to Sky Sports:

Demarai Gray resisted new deals, open to move. light. Must Read

"“Leicester gave me everything, and obviously it’s because of them that I am where I am now, and what I achieved. It’s part of my career, and I cannot thank them enough.“Vichai [Srivaddhanaprabha] was very special to me. When I see Leicester I still see him. Very important club and very important people in my heart.”– Riyad Mahrez"
