Insight and explanation on all current Leicester City transfer rumours, including: Manuel Akanji, Gleison Bremer and Ibrahima Diallo.

At the time of writing this article, Leicester City are yet to announce Wesley Fofana as a Fox. Although the confirmation of the Saint-Etienne man seems all but a formality: a medical is agreed; the player wants the move so personal terms are considered a formality; and les Verts have publicly acknowledged a deal.

Now let’s move our attention to other possible recruits this window, remember – this is only Foxes of Leicester’s opinion on the matter and our own ratings are devised from what we hear, read and know.

Leicester City-linked players rated

Manuel Akanji

Akanji plays for Borussia Dortmund and is a Swiss international. With Fofana almost certainly joining for approximately £35 million it’s unfeasible another potentially expensive CB would join him, unless Fofana is returned to France on loan.

Ibrahima Diallo

A midfielder, Diallo isn’t likely to join with Papy Mendy thriving.

Kurt Zouma

It seems as though Chelsea’s Zouma will move to Everton. Very unlikely.

Gleison Bremer

Bremer was mentioned before Fofana was sewn up, so FoL doesn’t see the switch as a possibility at this stage.

Brendan Rodgers on signings

Just to clarify, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers’ seemed to indicate last week that Leicester won’t be making any more forward-thinking signings. A striker is desired on Filbert Way but we’ll have to wait until January or next summer’s transfer window for that.

Some encouraging news emerged on Wednesday for Leicester and their fans, Dennis Praet – who is a doubt for the West Ham United match – has been included in the Belgium squad for their upcoming international fixtures. This does not mean the midfielder will begin the Hammers clash, but it does provide optimism for Rodgers and the Blue Army.
