In reports on Tuesday, it was stated that Leicester City winger Demarai Gray is wanted by EPL rivals Leeds United.
The uninspiring reign of Demarai Gray as Leicester City’s perennial underachiever may be coming to an end. Gray is being linked with a Premier League switch as we enter the final few days of the 2020 summer transfer window.
And this is not the first time the Birmingham-born forward has been connected with an exit from the East Midlands club. Tottenham Hotspurs are also said to be interested in Gray; apparently former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was keen, as well as current Lilywhites gaffer Jose Mourinho.
Obviously if Gray leaves Filbert Way for London, he won’t be a starting player for Mourinho, unless there is an intense uplift in quality exhibited and consistency shown. That, with respect to the athlete, is a tough feat after what Leicester fans have witnessed.
Brendan Rodgers strongly indicated a bit part role in the King Power team for the 24 year old this season. Furthermore, with only a year remaining on his deal, the Northern Irishman implied that Gray must prove himself for a longer stay.
Leeds United interested in Demarai Gray
If Leicester can defeat West ham United on Sunday, then they will likely remain division leaders with a hypothetical four wins in as many tries. Everton have the same amount of points, but City have netted more goals so far. In fact, the majority of observers would consider both teams – possibly along with Wolverhampton Wanderers – as the most significant challengers to the established big six sides.
