Leicester player allowed to leave amid interest from EPL rivals
There may be another exit on Filbert Way, as Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has apparently made a u-turn on a previous decision over Demarai Gray’s future.
It would be particularly unwise of Leicester City to sell another wideman this summer, especially without signing another winger before the transfer window slams shut in a few weeks. However, it is now reported that the aforementioned hypothetical scenario might well be an impending one.
Obviously all Foxes fans are disappointed with Birmingham-born player Demarai Gray’s progress at King Power Stadium. Of course he is a supremely talented athlete; he certainly looks and acts the part. If you study training videos of the 24 year old and the few and far between goals he’s actually managed to score, it is clear there is an elite performer in there, somewhere.
Demarai Gray’s Leicester City future
Brendan Rodgers, Leicester’s manager, is an astute boss, in Foxes of Leicester’s opinion. He navigates tricky situations well with regard to awkward media moments; as well as motivating and earning the loyalty of his squad. In particular, the star men.
Having said this, it is also true, as with any Premier League gaffer, that sometimes even his polished, pre-discussed responses in press conferences can be contradictory.
And that is the case with Gray: Rodgers previously claimed his wingman was required in the East Midlands, but in a u-turn, Gray is apparently allowed to leave amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
West Bromwich Albion are Leicester’s first opponents as the premiership gets underway. The Baggies were promoted from the Championship last season and will be provide a difficult match for the Foxes.
