Cengiz Under could make starting Leicester debut v West Ham
Brendan Rodgers indicated that new signing Cengiz Under could make a starting debut for Leicester City versus West Ham United.
There is more pressure on Cengiz Under’s shoulders than most people possible realise, understand or even care about. Leicester City have been devoid of a left-wing powerhouse for a couple of years. Well, since Riyad Mahrez left the club, to be honest.
There have been failures, with all due respect. Such as Rachid Ghezzal: an Algerian wingman naively bought to replace his countryman, and, some observers have suggested, to retain the many, many followers from Algeria. Although, that is a theory Foxes of Leicester doesn’t fully subscribe to.
However, this spot to fill will inevitably bring glory or disillusion to the former Roma man. Whereas other positions have less influence and allow the player to occasionally drift through season upon season – but not on the wing for City.
Cengiz Under’s hopeful Leicester City debut
Brendan Rodgers gave a pre-match press conference before meeting West Ham United on Sunday. During his answers to assembled media questioning, the gaffer said Under might play a role in the game; the Turk is available and there is a chance of him starting the contest.
The Northern Irishman in charge of the Foxes can be seen now on Sky Sports News, informing viewers of his plans for the West Ham clash and stating his feelings on the signing of centre-back Wesley Fofana amongst other things. Under will wear squad number 19 for the East Midlanders.
Jamie Vardy and other fresh Fox Timothy Castagne are both nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September. Additionally, Rodgers is up for the Manager of the Month accolade. While James Maddison’s incredible effort versus Manchester City may win Goal of the Month.
