Injury updates on 3 Leicester starters ahead of West Ham game
Ahead of playing West Ham United at King Power Stadium, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers provided an injury update.
Can Premier League leaders Leicester City make it four wins in as many attempts at the start of this fast-paced season? It is a distinct possibility. Yes, West Ham United – the Foxes’ next opponents – did beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 in their last outing. But prior to that, the Hammers lost away to Arsenal and, staggeringly, at home to Newcastle United 2-0 in their opener.
One element that could be a massive boost for Leicester would be the clearance of three first team stars to feature or start the match. Jonny Evans, Jamie Vardy and Dennis Praet, in particular, were all doubts. Although, Brendan Rodgers addressed the issues in his pre-match press conference on Friday, ahead of Sunday’s clash.
Injury updates on 3 Leicester City stars
Missing your most experienced centre-back, main striker and midfield dynamo would be a real blow to Leicester. Thankfully Rodgers provided positive news.
As you can read for yourself in the tweet thread above from BBC Leicester Sport, the manager confirmed Evans and Vardy should begin the game at London Stadium as usual.
However, while Praet’s problem isn’t as severe as first feared, he will have to be assessed before the King Power club travel to meet David Moyes’ outfit. The Belgian has been so impressive this campaign that he’s actually given the Northern Irishman a headache: who to drop in midfield for the returning James Maddison?!
In other Leicester news, centre-half signing Wesley Fofana will sport squad number three for the East Midlands side during 2020/21.
