Unfortunately for some of the senior Leicester City squad, the club is only allowed to name a certain amount of Europa League players so some haven’t made the cut.

The most difficult, undesirable, as well as impossible task all football managers, whichever division they’re in, is having to leave athletes out of their matchday squads. Now imagine if you happen to be a player at a club the size of Leicester City, and you think: ‘great, I’m playing in Europe next season’, then, all of a sudden, that dream is taken from you by the only superior you’ve got to impress, really.

That is the situation some senior Foxes found themselves in on Thursday morning. Leicester’s 24-man Europa League roster does not contain these men: Filip Benkovic, Daniel Amartey, Matty James, Demarai Gray, Islam Slimani. After the group stages, some like Amartey may be added to the collective when it can be amended.

While on international duty on Wednesday evening, Under got on at half time for Turkey in their 3-3 thriller with Germany. Sadly Under didn’t manage a goal or assist in the match, though again showed his determination by picking up a yellow card. In Foxes of Leicester’s recent exclusive piece with Turkish football expert, Emre Sarigul, about the winger, we learned that he has a passionate side to his character.
