Thankfully Leicester City’s injury crisis has been eased by the availability of two star players for the Europa League opener versus Zorya Luhansk.

While Leicester City narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification in 2019/20, to the discontent of a small section of the Foxes fan base, every educated individual understands that competing in the Europa League tournament remains a very good achievement for the club.

Yes, the final Premier League fixtures last season were ultimately a drastic disappointment, yet there are reasons for supporters to be cheerful and excited. A solid start has degenerated, but Brendan Rodgers is the right man for the job.

Zorya Luhansk are the initial opponents for the UEL opener. They are a Ukrainian club who, on paper, shouldn’t provide much of a test for the King Power side. However, with high profile injuries, Rodgers faces a tougher task than he might have.

A boost for Leicester is James Maddison’s and Dennis Praet’s availability for the Zorya clash. Neither is fully fit at present, although the boss says they need minutes in the tank. Foxes of Leicester believe the pair are likely to start on Thursday evening.

The Northern Irishman confirmed striker Jamie Vardy is unavailable for the upcoming game; but that his players are working hard on their fitness. Meanwhile, Vardy may return for the EPL contest at Arsenal.

Elsewhere around the Leicester sphere, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola still isn’t over his progressively weaker side’s 5-2 loss to the East Midlanders. Porto were defeated by the Citizens on Wednesday evening. Subsequently the Spaniard couldn’t help but mention the defensive set-up used by the Portuguese team, comparing it to the Foxes system from Rodgers’ tactical triumph.
