How Brendan Rodgers is motivating Leicester squad to win Europa League
James Maddison reveals how Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is actually motivating the Leicester City players to win the Europa League.
James Maddison has given a fairly revealing interview in which he speaks on a few different topics relating to himself and, of course, Leicester City.
Thankfully the playmaker is fit again, starting and playing very well indeed. Hopefully he will begin the next Premier League game and score, as he did versus Zorya Luhansk on Thursday in the Foxes’ maiden Europa League contest.
During his back and forth, the England international discussed a new ‘dawn’ after his recent injury issues. Going on to say that the 2019/20 run-in was a particularly difficult time for him: “Madders” had to watch with a hip problem as his team-mates struggled and then ultimately failed to secure Champions League football – despite being in pole position to do so.
Nevertheless, UEL qualification was still a big deal for Leicester, their staff and side should be proud of the achievement. It is also great to hear in the Daily Mail that the 23 year old is ‘desperate’ to win trophies – us Blue Army faithful would dearly love to see that scenario transpire.
Brendan Rodgers shows Sevilla clip to Leicester City players
Additionally, there was another fascinating insight in Maddison’s chat: the midfielder revealed that Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is actually motivating his squad to win the UEL tournament.
Apparently the Northern Irishman showed them all a video clip of Sevilla lifting the trophy to inspire his team. Maddison claimed their tears of joy gave him goosebumps, and he wants to enjoy the same feeling as the Spanish outfit.
