It is well-known that Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha wants to expand King Power Stadium, here is how it is likely to look.

With an enormously modern new training ground – in fact it will be state-of-the-art, to rival any clubs’ facilities – with an estimated value of £100 million nearing completion, Leicester City are certainly moving into the off the field territory, please excuse the puns. They aspire to be elite: challenging top-four teams for their Premier League positioning in all aspects. The Foxes will likely remain pressurising ‘big-six’ sides, despite Liverpool sending them back to reality on Sunday.

While we know the quality group of players are in the optimistic hands of Brendan Rodgers, and the staff are in the great hands of King Power boss and chairman of the outfit, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, an upgrade on the practice area in the works – the next phase is ultimately improving and expanding the Stadium.

At present, King Power Stadium has a capacity of 32,261. In my time going to games in Leicestershire, at either stadia, roughly that amount of fans consistently attend matches – if the club is in the top-flight at the time. With recent success, there is a definite possibility of regularly filling the arena if it increases by 30 per cent or 10 thousand seats. Below are photographs of how beautiful the ground might look when work is eventually complete.

Give Me Sport reports that attention at the KP has returned to expansion talks, which involve:

"“a second tier on top of their east stand, covered by a futuristic half dome. The plans would involve a huge amount of work on the ground’s exterior, too, with large concrete stairs being placed outside, allowing for above ground level access to new seats.”"

There are also rumours of a hotel being built right next to the stadium. Not to mention talk of an indoor arena on the site.
