Since joining Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers has transformed the team into a true force. If Jamie Carragher’s prediction comes true, it will be a disaster for the Foxes.

Brendan Rodgers isn’t going anywhere! That’s what the Leicester City fan down the pub will tell you. When pubs are open again, that is. They told me the same thing about N’golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Harry Maguire, actually. But fear not: Foxes of Leicester believes the manager will be around for a good while – even if some footballing superpowers make their interest known.

Jamie Carragher, who’s recently been upsetting an American audience on a network across the pond while undertaking punditry work on Champions League football, has made a prediction that Leicester fans won’t like. As per Metro, the former Liverpool stalwart suggests that clubs such as Arsenal or even Chelsea will target Rodgers as their new manager or head coach in the near future.

Carragher’s notion is predictable and unimaginative in itself, to be truly honest. Partly because it seems unlikely that either teacher’s pet Frank Lampard or Mikel Arteta, with their slippered feet under the management tables, will have any problems retaining their positions for at least this campaign.

Arteta was overpraised early, sure, but I foresee these huge sides mostly maintaining bosses now in an attempt at glorious Alex Ferguson-style stability. Which is also unlikely to come to fruition – unless maybe they stole the Foxes gaffer.

wow. Ex-Fox to become cage fighter. light

A lot of onlookers would opine that Leicester, whilst being unable to match revenues, have in fact outcompeted the pair of Premier League rivals off the pitch comparatively. And, in Arsenal’s case, arguably outfought and outmatched their on-field play for a few years now. Therefore, Rodgers won’t be tempted by them as he would, let’s say, if Manchester City hypothetically came calling. Although, where I agree with the ex-Reds man is that Rodgers is the “best British coach out there, no doubt”.
