During his long-awaited comeback to football with Leicester City after an injury, Caglar Soyuncu has suffered a reoccurrence.

To be honest, considering I have to follow the Premier League and Leicester City particularly closely on a daily basis, I found it slightly surprising that Brendan Rodgers opted to slot his key – some would say crucial – three returning players straight into the starting line-up for the Europa League clash with Zorya Luhansk.

Ricardo Pereira, Wilfred Ndidi along with Caglar Soyuncu all started the contest, following the trio all returning from fairly serious injuries. Ricardo certainly should be handled with care after cruciate ligament problems.

There are questions over whether Rodgers should have actually began the game with the previously mentioned athletes named among the substitutes. That theory regards the possible ‘rushing back’ of talent; because the Turkey international had to be withdrawn on 15 minutes.

In fact, the boss was asked that very poser as he gave his usual post-match interviews and statements over the dissection of play, in this case. Now, Rodgers – despite his typically emotionless answers – seemed mildly rattled due to the implication of the question.

Did Leicester City rush Caglar Soyuncu back?

If a player misses exactly two months of elite football – after playing for his nation around that time, arguably when he shouldn’t have which may have aggravated the issue – then is substituted with a mere 15 minutes played, expect reporters to interrogate awkwardly. That wasn’t a dig at the boss from me exactly, but come on?!

Here is Rodgers’ response:

"‘It was the moment for him to come in. He went through all the protocols with the medical team and was fine.‘He’s been training for quite a long period. This was a chance to put him in. He was motivated and ready to play.’Via Daily Mail"

Soyuncu will be assessed further on Friday, apparently. With Sheffield United awaiting Leicester on Sunday; the Blades are struggling immensely, therefore expect a Fulhamtype encounter.
