Leicester City may not have missed Ricardo Pereira as much as everyone expected, but it will be immense for the Foxes to have him back.

You may not agree with my above statement, which is fine, I suppose. I guess the more accurate assessment is that Leicester City might have gained a few more points, conceded a couple less or scored the odd extra goal. But Timothy Castagne, James Justin, Christian Fuchs and Luke Thomas have been excellent overall.

Yet it will be a great day when Ricardo Pereira has played two or three 90 minute matches, and can be consider fully fit. He was, and probably will be again, the Foxes’ key man.

Brendan Rodgers’ main conundrum as manager is going to be selecting a team which includes the Portuguese as well as Castagne and Justin. Foxes of Leicester’s article on that specific matter will be published early this week.

The boss recently spoke of his injured right-back; the Northern Irishman often comments on his committed player, who will hopefully regain his former health and glorious form.

In addition, Rodgers named the match which should witness a Ricardo return – the January 9 FA Cup contest versus Stoke City, as per Leicestershire Live. We definitely don’t envisage a start for the former, rather an appearance as substitute.

Other Leicester City injuries

We wrote a more in depth roundup of the club’s injured athletes, which you can read here. However, the squad is gaining fitness, it appears.

FoL expects quite a few changes for the cup clash. Presumably Wesley Fofana, who’s been “managing” an issue according to Rodgers, will be rested along with James Maddison. Cengiz Under is more likely to be in the eleven, as we see it. Caglar Soyuncu will begin the match, almost certainly.
