Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers gave an injury update on James Maddison and Ricardo Pereira at the FA Cup press conference.

Before playing Stoke City in the FA Cup, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers provided fitness news on James Maddison and Ricardo Pereira. Foxes of Leicester expects some rather heavy rotation for the match – despite the Blue Army’s desire for a cup run.

It was hoped that Ricardo would return to the matchday team for the day, potentially as a substitute. However, the gaffer has declared his right-back “not ready”. But also confirmed the Portuguese is close to a comeback after an injury reoccurrence in the Europa League.

Unfortunately, James Maddison is set to be rested on account of nursing a knee injury, according to Rodgers. You can read more about their situations here, at lcfc.com.

Leicester City transfer news

In other Leicester news, players are leaving on loan and returning from temporary switches. Centre-back Filip Benkovic returned on Wednesday; the Croat had been at Cardiff City. While Football Insider claims that the King Power club have accepted a loan extension for defender Josh Knight.

Meanwhile, Development squad goalkeeper Daniel Iversen went to Preston North End for the remainder of the 2020/21 term, following a departure from KP linked OH Leuven. Preston also want to capture Foxes stopper Eldin Jakupovic. Admiral Muskwe has joined Wycombe Wanderers until the season ends.

There is much talk of Demarai Gray exiting the club for good, finally. No disrespect intended to Gray but if he applied his talent and presumably focused or trained harder – his name would be the first one on the Northern Irishman’s teamsheet. Islam Slimani should really be leaving as soon as possible, as well; if not, FoL would certainly have to question the club’s position.
