According to an exclusive report, Leicester City have joined the transfer chase for Southampton’s Danny Ings, alongside Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

If you ask my opinion – which is presumably partly why a few people are reading – then I believe the Foxes should go for Ings before another Premier League rival snaps him up. Especially with Jamie Vardy out for a few weeks.

Spurs are a great club and that move would be hard to reject – yet the King Power side is truly on the rise.

Our friends at 90MiN published exclusive details to their readers on Leicester’s interest in the impressive top-flight forward:

"Leicester and Everton have joined the race for Southampton striker Danny Ings, who is yet to commit his long-term future to the club. Tottenham are another club keeping an eye on Ings."

Irrespective of the debate, speculation, opinion and analysis of a natural goalscorer and his next potential move, the Saints are said to be convinced that the England striker will remain with them on the south coast.

Daily Mail suggests that the Southampton hierarchy is confident that the former-Liverpool man will stay at St Marys as he is “happy”. Martin Semmens, Southampton CEO, stated that money was not the issue for Ings’ resistance to put pen-to-paper.

We all know the player is desperate to prove himself in the Champions League; Leicester are much more likely to achieve qualification there, with all respect to the southern outfit. And remember, Rodgers signed the 28-year-old at Liverpool!

Hot. Will Iheanacho be sold if Ings signs?. light

Ahead of the FA Cup match against Brentford on Sunday, Foxes of Leicester chose the starting eleven we think Rodgers will select. The boss said he will rotate, yet his side will still consist of all international athletes. What a time to be a City fan thanks to such a strong squad, not to mention great ownership.
