According to a report, Leicester City and some of their Premier League rivals are currently scouting a striker aged 17, Jayden Wareham of Woking.

Talk of the Foxes signing a centre-forward has intensified of late. This is because we are well into March now, and that is the time when preemptive transfer speculation begins ahead of the summer window.

Though, with Kelechi Iheanacho’s heroics at the weekend against Sheffield United – the Nigerian netted a hat-trick – the search for a new central attacker seems less important. Whether Iheanacho could ever fully succeed Jamie Vardy as the main man for Leicester, is still highly debatable.

Nevertheless, along with Celtic‘s Odsonne Edouard, the Foxes will be linked to forwards. A player who is supposedly being tracked, possibly for later in his development, is Woking’s Jayden Wareham:

"West Ham, Southampton and Leicester City are amongst a group of Premier League sides who have scouted 17-year-old striker Jayden Wareham, according to a report from The Telegraph.Via The Boot Room"

A look at the not too distant Leicester City future

A week off certainly did the east Midlands team the world of good before the dismantling of Sheffield United, in which hitman Kelechi Iheanacho managed to score a quite impressive hat-trick for the Foxes. Jamie Vardy is back amongst the goals, well, assists, as he facilitated three of them. Next up for the King Power side is an FA Cup quarter-final versus second placed Premier League club – directly above Leicester in the division – Manchester United.

After another seven days off, the Leicestershire outfit will fancy their chances; especially with Manchester United playing AC Milan just before the domestic tie. The cup tie is set to be a particularly interesting match: obviously to see which side makes the semi-finals, not to mention the faith that can be instilled in either team to claim their position for Champions League football in 2021/22.
